Poker Strategy: Knowing when to quit

Even the best poker players in the world will have days when there is nothing happening but losing. Knowing when to quit will spell savings your bankroll.

Basically, one big reason to quit a session is because you are on your way to tilt. You might have already played a lot of games and undoubtedly you are tired or maybe have other better things to do.

You know when you are tilting when you see the following signs:

  • You will have the impression that your poker opponents are most of the time bluffing.
  • You are chasing the money and want to at least break even.
  • You are over eager to be in the action again.

You must realize that you have had too much poker for the day when:

  • You are dosing off at the poker table
  • You know you have clocked in 10 hours of poker in a day. It will be best to play short sessions rather than few long hour sessions. Avoid playing more than 10 hours of poker in any given day.
  • You are having a hard time focusing on the game and your opponents.
